Renaming Users - How is it done?

I'm new to Jira and currently in the trail version. When I setup my account, I was able to setup a user name (First Last name) along with my email. I was able to invite co-workers by entering an email when assigning newly created tasks.

The issue: these user accounts have defaulted to a shortened user name (first initial-lastname). I have not been able to find a way to rename these user names.

This is done at id.atlassian.com and only by the specific user.
