Rename User-Synchronisation between LDAP-JIRA

I have JIRA 6.3 with a Jira Delegated Authentification Directory. In Future we want to change usernames in LDAP . Does Jira have the ability to detect AND synchronise automatically or manually? and if automatically, how do the settings look like for JIRA Delegated Authentifiaction Directory?

The problem is :

-another department of our company changes a few thousand usernames in ldap, because the company wants a uniform username buildup

Do we have to change every username manually or is there a shortcut?

You can try the ScriptRunner add on then. There is a script that allows you to change usernames.

I believe this is the steps:

1. Rename user in JIRA
2. Rename user in AD
3. Perform User Directory Sync

Of course, backup before trying a few out.
