Remove old users

Hi

I would like to remove old users from my account but JIRA says that i can't remove them as they have comments in issues, are watchers i X issues etc. The old users are deactiveated. Is there a way to search for the old users and simply delete them?

Hi @Pierre Widing and welcome to the Community. You really should not delete users as it causes issues. The only exception I have used is if the user has never logged in and it is apparent they will not. If you do want to delete them you will need to modify any/all issues removing them as assignee, watcher, etc. I can’t recall all conditions but the system will let you know when you are in the clear as you attempt to delete. You can search for Inactive users under user management.
