Remove items from a drop-down category list

Hello guys!

My Project has the "Categories" context field.

Many unnecessary items have been added to the drop-down list that I want to delete, but when accessing the project settings there is no possibility to delete, only to fix an item as an option.

Any suggestion?

Hi Caroline, 

Thank you for your inputs.. 

Please follow below steps. 

1. Filter issues by unwanted labels. 

2. Remove labels from issues either manually or bulk update. 

Labels values will be unavailable if it is not used in your target project.

To delete labels, you have to identify the issues where they have been used and remove the labels from the issues.

Hi @Dattatray Borude  can you please elaborate the steps I am new to jira and I want to remove the unwanted suggestions shown in the dropdown labels which are not there in my dashboard
