Releasing a version but not including Won't Fix items in release notes

We have tickets that we mark as won't fix.

However when we release the version, I get told that these release can't happen because some tickets are not ready.

I know this is because of my task board mapping (I only map the last state to Fixed and Done, not Won't Fix)

So I ignore the warning and release anyway.

But now my release notes contain tickets that we won't actually release? How do I exclude them from the release notes?

This is not possible with GH 5 anyway, I have not tried release notes with v6 yet. With v5 I thought it would be nice if they allowed the configure release notes to be exposed to a project context where you could apply a filter.
