Release kanban does not release tickets that are CLOSED

I have added a BLCOKED status to my workflow and since then clicking RELEASE in Kanban board does not release the DONE items. It only releases the BLOCKED items. This is very strange. Anyone can help?

Looks like the release feature only releases the last column that is on the board.

Correct, a "release" is very clearly defined as "the current content of the 'Done' column".  That's not strange at all, it's what Kanban does.
