Release Reporting

How can we report Releases to the management in JIRA?

Once we create a Release in Jira and then complete the release once it's deployed to Production, how can we report the number of releases that a Team has done/completed in a month to report to the management?

Hi @Ruchi Uppal

Trust you are well.

If I were you I would build a Release Dashboard (or since you are using Jira Server you can also export those Gadgets to Confluence). You can do it one-time for specific Release or in case you have a cadence of Release create one that will cover the flow.

As for the content I suggest you use a mix of standard gadgets and gadgets for Partner Apps. In particular I suggest looking at our Release Gadgets Apps. You will have access to gadgets that will allow you to outline Release Roadmaps, Calendars, Progress Bars, Status Reports, Countdown timers and some analytical reports like Burnups, Trends and Scope Change.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Yuri.

Thanks, Yuri for your response.

We don't have Confluence in my company as of now. In terms of the Release Gadgets app, I need to check with my company on this. But I certainly like the idea of building a Release Dashboard.

Thanks again,

Regards,

Ruchi

Hi Ruchi,

Jira Cloud, by default, doesn't provide such reporting.

However, there are a few ways to potentially get the information you need.

First, I recommend you check the Atlassian Marketplace (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/) for release reporting apps. I did a quick check and found a few that look promising - such as: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1228848/release-planning-and-reports-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

Something else to consider is Jira Advanced Roadmaps. Advanced Roadmaps includes a releases report: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiraportfoliocloud/using-the-releases-report-828785336.html
