Recalculate the numbering of the user stories

If you are talking about the issue key - such as ABC-31 - then no, it is not possible to renumber those.

What do you mean by "numbering of the story"?  Is it a field you are calculating and adding to the issues?

Or do you mean the issue's key?  You can't change that except by moving an issue to another project, where it will take on the next number as per that project's issue counter.
