When multiple people are collaborating on a Jira issue, newly added comments don't appear until you manually refresh the page. This makes it difficult to have real-time conversations on tickets — especially during live troubleshooting or
fast-moving projects where team members are actively commenting back and forth.
What I'd like: Comments should appear in the issue view automatically when another user adds one, without requiring a page refresh. Similar to how tools like Notion, Google Docs, or Slack update in real time.
Why it matters:
- Teams lose time constantly refreshing to check for new comments
- It creates confusion when people respond to outdated comment threads because they didn't see the latest reply
- The new threaded comments feature (Dec 2025) makes this even more important — threaded conversations only work well if participants can see replies as they happen
Current workaround: Manually refreshing the browser tab, which breaks focus and is easy to forget.
I noticed the Real-Time Issue Events EAP exists for app developers, and the Nov 2025 update introduced some real-time toggle features. It would be great to extend this to comment updates natively in the issue view.
Hi,
This is not possible for the moment but there is a feature request : [JSWCLOUD-12807] Auto-refresh issue if it was changed (or e.g. comment added) - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.
