Rank field is not visible on Board

Hi Guys,

Need your help in Ranking issues in Jira Software ( Standard License) 

I am new to Jira Cloud. I have add Rank field on all Issue type scree and even added on Layout but still is not visible on Issue Details View in Backlog, nor show on view screen not on Edit screen. Kindly suggest.

Hi @Vikrant Yadav

The rank field is not meant to be put on a screen. It has no data that is helpful to human beings. It's more serving the concept of ranking in Jira and that globally, so issues maintain a relative relationship with each other throughout Jira.

Yes in Backlog, I can move/arrange issue top, bottom as per my preference when drag/dropping  issues to Sprint then again I need to arrange them. I was thinking a way to see the Ranking number so that when moving issue to Sprint jira automatically arrange issues based on Ranking number.

As Max says, the actual data in the field is not human-friendly, and it can not be directly entered by users, so it's utterly useless to you for this purpose.

Sprints are already arranged by rank, unless you have changed the sort order on the filter that you are using for the board so that it says something other than "order by rank".

Hi @Vikrant Yadav ,

There is no native option to display the Rank field on the issue details view in the new Jira issue view. The Rank field is meant to be visible and editable directly on the board, and you can rank issues by dragging and dropping them to a higher or lower position in the Scrum or Kanban or in a column in the Active sprints.
