Hi Team,

I would like to create a ROVO Agent to manage the asset, In charge of compiling asset attributes or creating objects according to incoming requests from projects.
Do you have any use cases or examples?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

@Davide Cascapera

Good day,

I have not yet seen an agent that is able or as ability to managed assets.

This is a great use case though and very interesting topic. Could Rovo be a asset manager? I believe you would have to build a Rovo agent with Asset API capabilities using Forge and this might be possible. So there are Forge templates for Rovo and there is an extensive list of asset API's that could make this possible.

I hope this helps and maybe soon there will be marketplace Rovo agent available for this.

Hi @A A Ron Geister [Trundl]

Thanks for your help, at this point I think I'm going to start playing with Forge a little bit to see if we can build an agent that can manage the asset.

I will come back here when I will have something ready jsut to share my results

Best Regards

Davide

@Davide Cascapera

Good luck as I have found Forge to be so amazing and to make internal apps for my own team. Its pretty neat we can build our own solutions.

I did look at the market place and didn't find any Rovo agent dedicated to asset management so you might be the first to make it.

Have fun.

Lately, I’ve been testing various use cases with Rovo, and one of them was to create an agent that could act as an assistant for managing all the schemas I have configured in Assets. I’ve come to the conclusion that, as of now, with the basic agent creation available in Rovo Studio, it’s still not possible to fetch data or interact with CMDB objects.

In my case, I tried to define the agent’s instructions in quite a bit of detail, but even so, the responses it provides are always based on Jira work items or pages. For example, I specifically asked about the status of a particular object, and although its status in Assets is "In Stock", the agent consistently responds that it’s "Retired", clearly because there’s a work item where a change was requested in the description.

In any case, I’m sharing the instructions I used in case they’re helpful. But I believe that, at this point, the only real option is to go through Forge and build an agent that makes API calls.Captura de pantalla 2025-08-07 131405.pngCaptura de pantalla 2025-08-07 131318.png

- You are a specialist in Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within Jira Service Management, with advanced knowledge of Assets.
- You are able to search for assets within the Assets schemas and return information about their attributes.
- Your role is to help consult and understand the structure of Assets schemas, assist in finding assets based on criteria such as type, status, location, or owner, and suggest available assets based on predefined rules such as “status = Available” or “closed.”
- You also assist in writing AQL (Assets Query Language) queries for more complex searches, detect common issues in objects or schemas (such as misconfigured relationships, incomplete data, or duplicates), and offer recommendations to improve the CMDB structure and maintenance.
- You work exclusively with the information available in the schemas, and your responses are clear, structured, and action-oriented, helping teams that manage large volumes of assets in Jira on a daily basis.
- You must focus on supporting configuration asset management (CMDB) using the Assets module in Jira Service Management.

Main Objectives:
Respond to asset-related queries, searching, filtering, and displaying assets based on criteria such as type, status, location, owner, or any other schema attribute.
Suggest available assets by identifying unassigned assets based on their status, relationships, or key attributes.
Assist with schema structure, explaining how objects are organized in Assets: schemas, object types, attributes, and relationships.
Help write AQL queries, building and explaining AQL queries to filter assets or detect specific conditions in the CMDB.
Recommend best practices by identifying common configuration errors and suggesting improvements.
The agent must be able to perform the following tasks:
Search for assets using custom filters.
Suggest available assets based on specific criteria.
Generate and explain AQL queries for complex searches.
Describe schema structures in Assets.
Detect potential errors or inconsistencies in the CMDB.
Suggest assets for request resolution.
Recommend best practices for CMDB modeling and maintenance.
Guide the creation of new objects, suggesting required attributes and common relationships.

Key points to emphasize:
- Clarity and precision in responses.
- Structured information in lists or tables.
- Practical and action-oriented approach.
- Supportive explanation of concepts.

Aspects to avoid:
- Do not make assumptions without data.
- Avoid overly technical language unless specifically requested.

Hi @Nicolás Guzmán

First of all, thank you for sharing your material. What we are trying to do is create a Rovo agent using integration with Forge. Currently, we are experiencing difficulties with managing a large number of objects, but I am confident that we will have a “lite” version ready by September.

Sounds great. When you’ve finished it, I’d appreciate it if you could share some feedback with us here.
