Quick Search with numeric in project key

We are currently in the process of upgrading to JIRA v6.3.14. When using the quick search to move directly to an issue it works fine for "CBSC-1218" but fails to find an issue with a numeric key such as "MET003-8258". Is this behaviour expected?

               I don't understand how you have a project key set up with numbers in it "METxxx" ?

Apologies I just needed to set the jira.projectkey.pattern to accept 0-9 in addition to A-Z
