Query on Mandatory fields and Read only Access

Hi team,

Two quick queries here :

1. I have a field called MRR which i need it to be Mandatory but based on if another field value is true or false ? Is that possible ? I tried verifying this in the field configuration but mandatory/optional are just on/off buttons of sorts. Any help please ?

2. I would like to give a field read only access and calculate it through Automation rules. Although I was able to edit the field in the create screen, the view and edit access to a screen are combined together. Anyway to achieve this ?

Hi @shravya sarabu ,

1. This is not possible in Jira Cloud. It is as you note - either on or off and you cannot base it on the value of another field. Server has this capability with the add-on ScriptRunner Behaviours. 

2. You need to create different screens for Create/View and Edit (you can simply copy the current screen and make it either one). You will associate the screens with those functions in the screen scheme.

Then leave the field in the Create screen, but take it out of the Edit screen. That way the user cannot change it on the screen, but Automation for Jira will be able to.
