Procedure to migrate production data to test server

I checked the article Backing up data

It seems I only need to (1) backup the database (2) backup the data directory.

We have a production server and test server with same structure. Both with same JIRA version. Both are Windows server+ MSSQL. They are built a year ago and we want to sync the content (including workflows, add-on, etc) from production to test. 

In order to migrate the data to test server, am I right that:

1. Take backup from Prod database and restore+override the Test database

2. Take backup from Prod JIRA data directory and then override the same directory in Test server

3. Restart the windows service in Test server.

Hello,

All your actions are right. Also do not forget to disable the outgoing mail, mail handlers and change colours for your Test instance. If you change colours, you will not make a mistake by applying wrong changes to the production instance.
