Problem with Date Field on Reports

I am having issues when trying to define the "Created Date" for a report in Jira.

When I create a new report and enter the dates in the Custom space (below), the JQL automatically returns a strange date format that does not match my input. 

Any suggestions on how to fix this? It has only been happening in the last week or so.
