Problem creating a task in classic template project

Hi, 

I have an installation of Jira which has both New Template and old templates project. I tried to create a task in a Project created using the Old Template but I cannot find the project in the task creation selection. I can only find the ones created in the old model.

What might be the issue here? Perhaps something during the creation of the project.

Welcome to Atlassian Community!
As per I could understand, you can create tasks correctly on Next-gen projects but not on Classic projects, is that correct?
Would it be possible to send us a screenshot of the screen that is not showing the project?
Also, please go to the Project settings for the affected project and click on Issue types to confirm if Task is one of the issue types added to the project:
