Prevent users from registering worklogs on those Tasks which are NOT assigned to them

Hi 

I observe  that  a user  can  register worklogs on a task  ,  which is NOT assigned to  him/her. .

How can I prevent this  ?  That  is  , any user should  be able to register worklogs , only on tasks , that is  specifically assigned to them.

In the Workflow management , I see an option  to deny  worklog  entry , if the issue is on a certain Status   [ say if it is in "ToDo"  state ,  one can not enter worklogs  ;  they need to  change it to "IN Progress" , before  Logging work ..   can  it be    managed on Assignee status as well ?  ]

Hi @James Jacob ,

Hope you are doing well!
To restrict time logging only to assignee on an issue you can update the project permission and add only "Current Assignee" option in the "Work On Issues" permission and remove other options.

 Thanks for the quick response ..

 Where can    I find the  project permission=> "Work On Issues" option  ?  Is it  under  the  Project settings under each project   ?   or  under   the  Global  Gear Icon  ? 

Couldn’t find at either of these places [ Where I  expected it ]  ..  Kindly  suggest.

You can find it in project settings under each project.

Project Settings > Permissions > Work on Issues.

I Checked it for this project .  . Under the Project Settings  , this option  : "Permissions" is  not available .

Then I found that  this  Project is a  "Team managed Project " .  and  for Team Managed Projects ,   this option is not available.  Only for Company Managed Projects  , I can see that  option [ Permissions]  under the  Project Settings.  And for the  Company Managed Projects , I am  able to  edit the "Work on Issues" Permission also. 

Is there a way to edit this  permission for the Team Managed  Projects ?

Hi James,

Unfortunately the Member role in Team Managed project gives permission to log work on any issues so here it can't be restricted to assignee only.
