Prevent changes to all but one field after particular workflow status?

I'm building a new CAB/RFC process in Jira to replace emailing word documents back and forth, and I'm just in the final stages of testing.

I've used the "jira.issue.editable" = false property once a ticket has gone past RFC Approved in the workflow, and that's all behaving as you'd expect.

I do however want the assignee to be able (and required) to set a "Change outcome" field when they move it to the last stage of the workflow.

What's the best way of doing that? Will an automation override the editable property?

It's been done as a Team Managed Project, so that may limit options.

Hi @Alex Cook

Use a transition screen on on the transition between statuses. Place the field "Change outcome" on the transition screen.

Then on a transition between statuses this field can be edited.

Ah, it's been done as a Team Managed project, so that's not going to be an option unless we rebuild it

HI @Alex Cook

Yes, currently this can only be done using a space based on a company managed project.

See this feature request for this functionality on a Team Managed project, https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-22084

I don't see this comming soon, as screens are only manageable via Jira administration and not on project level

Ah well, time to rebuild it as a Team Managed project then as this will be really useful
