Hi everyone,

In my Jira Structure, I’m using a setup with the following automation rules:

  • Insert issues via JQL

  • Sort by Agile Rank

  • Group by Assignee

The problem I’m facing is that users accidentally drag and drop issues horizontally, which turns them into sub-tasks of other issues.

But I don’t want to create sub-task relationships at all through drag and drop.
I only want users to be able to reorder issues vertically to change the Agile Rank – nothing else.

Is there a way to completely disable horizontal drag and drop, while still allowing vertical drag and drop for Agile Rank reordering?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Luis ,

Just to confirm—are you using some Marketplace solution (such as Structure), or are you using some native functionality when talking about structure?

If using Marketplace solution, the best bet would probably be to reach out to vendors directly (in case of Structure, here's the support link) and check with them if there's a workaround for behavior(s) you're experiencing.

Cheers,
Tobi
