Pre-populate custom issue fields from external source
What's the recommended approach to pre-populate a given field(such as a date or version) of a custom issue type from an external db/API such as Bamboo Server or some other external API? How can we pull info from that external API to these custom fields?
Same question for Bitbucket server integration. The fixVersion and the component lists are manually created in JIRA and has to be manually updated - is there a way to link the components from Bitbucket for a given project and pre-populate in the build number fixVersion from Bamboo? Otherwise, is the idea behind these just for product owner/project manager planning only?
