Pre-filled values in sub-tasks when clicking 'Create another issue'

Hi community,

Is there a workaround for values to not be pre-populated when sub-tasks are created subsequently?

I'm referring to when creating a new sub-task, the 'Create another issues' button at the bottom of the screen is marked down.

Many thanks

Hi @Spasimira Genova

There is an open defect for this symptom happening intermittently.  You may vote for / watch it to see any progress: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-81380

Reading through the comments on that defect, you can see the behavior and specific fields not cleared is inconsistent.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hello @Spasimira Genova ,

Currently, Jira doesn’t have a built-in feature to stop fields from being pre-filled when using the 'Create another issue' option for sub-tasks. This button uses the values from the last created issue to pre-fill the fields for the new one.

As a workaround, you might consider:

  • Clearing Fields Manually: After clicking 'Create another issue,' you can manually clear or adjust the pre-filled fields before saving the new sub-task.
  • Using Automation or Add-ons: For more advanced customization, you could explore Jira add-ons or automation rules that may help clear specific fields when creating new issues.

Let me know if you need more details!

Thanks,
Shreeja J.

Hi @Shreeja J

Thank you so much for confirming, I thought this might be the case.

Best wishes,

Spasimira
