Plugin page returns a 'dead link' error

Dan McClintock August 3, 2021

We are running Jira Server 6.3.12. Everything was apparently running fine until a few days ago.

The plugins page found at http://<url>.com/plugins/servlet/upm returns an error of "Oops, you've found a dead link".

Under 'User Installed Add-ons', the 'Atlassian Universal Plugin Manager Plugin' is showing as disabled (version 2.22.24).

As per another post on this site, I deleted the two plugin cache folders and restarted but this did not resolve the issue.

Any other suggestions and resolutions would be very welcome as I can't find any other easy way of getting this plugin enabled.

Hi @Dan McClintock,

This is an interesting problem. Can you please share the bug that appears in catalina.out and in the atlassian-jira.log file when you try to run the addon manually? Maybe it will give us a way forward.

I assume this addon can't be uninstalled? Otherwise I would try to uninstall and then reinstall from https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/23915/atlassian-universal-plugin-manager/version-history

Thanks for the reply. I've never tried it in Linux, but I'll give it a shot at uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin.

When removing the old plugin to reinstall, I noticed the original version was different to the current version.

It appears the upgrade to 2.22.24 from 2.17.x was the cause of the issue.
