Plugin for fetching other attributes from Microsoft Active Directory

Currently Jira User Directory options provide only a predefined set of attributes to be fetched from Microsoft Active Directory.

Are there any options available to fetch attirbutes like departments etc from AD and Populate them as a user property within Jira ?

You can try JELUS Enterprise LDAP User Sync for JIRA and see if it meets your requirement. And as you might already know, you can find the feature request in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-24332
