ActivityTimeline provides a list of features for capacity planning where you can schedule a large amount of workload for the whole team:
- ActivityTimeline provides a clear overview for managers/team members of all projects, tasks, teams and individuals. On a timeline view you can manage resources with different details more easily.
- The workload and availability indicator will give you a clear vision of the available capacity of each Jira resource. It clearly is shown as a color-coded advance to help individuals' productivity. Vacation/day-off, bookings, and placeholders are also available in the add-on.
- On every Personal page user can log worked hours directly on tasks, or use a special in-built Time Tracker to calculate every minute. By setting estimates and logging hours the available hours is calculated much easier.
- The additional modules provide numerous reports including timesheets reports.
- People management: ActivityTimeline allows create teams (including team leaders, dedicated projects) with users' skills, positions, and user knowledge levels. You can create a dynamic team based on employees' skills (for a temporary project for example). There are possibility to set how many hours user can work per day.
- Planning and org structure view: you can select multiple teams and schedule the tasks between users-teams in one timeline view.
- Cross-teams view: plugin delivers wide visualization in order for you to comprehend how to manage your teams more effectively.
- ActivityTimeline has a Milestones Panel where you can track your goals, events, releases, deadlines.

BigPicture seems to be a good match! It’s a great tool that supports project management in every phase and helps plan, manage and track the projects.
The Gantt module allows:
- Progress tracking - not only on a single task level but also on a project or its phases level; the plugin allows you to aggregate data of statuses, progress, and time tracking.
- Adjustable WBS - In BigPicture, you can automatically create a no-limited number of WBS levels. Task Structure can be created based on both build-in task attributes (e.g., Epic link, Component, Version, Sprint) as well as links.
- Automatically scheduled tasks - based on estimates, tasks dependencies, or/and assignee working days
- Scenario mode - explore and compare various plans, schedule alternatives based on changing conditions, and find the best solution.
- The critical path - marks issues directly influencing the project end date.
The Resources module provides all crucial information to manage resources both at project and portfolio levels but also can give an insight into resource utilization on a PI/Sprint level.
You can display capacity, remaining capacity, and workload both on the individual and Team level, which allows precise analysis of the consumption of currently utilized resources and forecasted availability. Data are color-coded, which helps quickly identify both overallocation and under-allocation.
