Plans - Schedule work items permission error message

Hi everyone,

I created a Plan to keep track of my team's feature ranking because the Filters view doesn't let me reorder features.

The problem is that every time I change a feature's rank and try to save, I get an error saying I don't have the Schedule work item permission.

At first, I thought this was because my Plan included features from multiple workspaces where I didn't have the necessary permissions. To test that theory, I requested admin access to one workspace and created a new Plan containing only features from that workspace. However, I'm still getting the same error.

I also reached out to my company's Jira administrator, but they redirected me to the workspace administrator.

Has anyone run into this issue before? Is there another permission I'm missing, or is there something else I should check?

Hi @Gustavo Pfeifer Meijer, that error comes from the projects your features belong to. When you drag a feature to change its rank, Plans writes the Rank field back onto each work item in Jira, and Jira only lets you set Rank if you hold the Schedule work item permission (together with Edit work item) on that project. Being an admin on the workspace doesn't carry it by itself. Schedule work item has to be granted to your role or group in the project's permission scheme, and an admin can still be missing it.

Have a Jira admin open that project's permission scheme (Project settings > Permissions) and grant Schedule work item to your role/group, then confirm Edit work item is there too. If the plan ranks items from several projects you need it on every one of them, or the save breaks on the first item you're not covered for. The Permission helper (cog > System > Permission helper) will confirm it once it's set.
