Permissions Limitation Warning

From this support article - Atlassian is imposing a set of guardrails to ensure optimal performance of your site / space / work in Jira.

If you look at a permission scheme in Jira, this specific mention means you will be able to add a maximum of 50 users, groups or roles to a permission in a single scheme. That is massive.

In most environments we manage, there are rarely more than 5 to 10 roles created in an entire site - if you adhere to best practices and mainly add roles to permission schemes (linking groups and/or users to those in the actual spaces), you can still go pretty crazy before you hit those limits. Imho, this is a very broad an generous limitation, maybe encouraging you indeed to think about best practices.

This might have an impact on customers who tend to add individual users directly to permission schemes, but - to be honest - that is definitely not a best practice.

The limit will be 50 grants per permission and not for the entire scheme

For example, you can add up to 50 users/ groups/ space roles under 'browse projects' permission
