Passing Confluence Cloud variables to Jira. And how to even get variables into confluence.

Hi,

I have created templates using "variables" in Confluence. They do not render or accept values in a TAB panel when a page is created by template using Macro Toolbox. This is my first challenge. 

The second is I want to include a button that will prefill a Jira template to create from Confluence? Is any of this even possible without a paid plugin?
