Parent name display is too long.

We have switched over from Epic Link to Parent in accordance with recent updates from Atlassian. My problem is the display of the Parent name when viewing one of the child  issues. The Parent field shows both the key and the name of the Parent, which is almost always is too long for the space provided in the right sidebar if the issue view. 

I know I can expand the space of the right side bar, but that adds a lot of blank space to the side bar for a key that I don't need and takes valuable space from the main issue view.
