Thank you for responding much appreciated.  The first thing that we did was reach out to eazyBI.   What we found out was, It appears that there is an open issue relating to the new parent field not being included in the API.  We did discover that the parent link while deprecated is copying the value of the parent field for issue types that have been placed above an Epic in Jira hierarchy.

I see, then it might be best to reach out to Atlassian and open a support ticket with them to have the API changes made.
