Overview over new comments

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
June 30, 2020

Hi! I like Jira a lot and am thinking about integrating it much more into my work.

My team and I communicate much using comments on the cards.

However I find it difficult to keep track of all new comments as there seems to be no "New comment" display.

Is there any way to create an overview of new comments? Maybe to filter for cards that have "unread comments" in them? Or give the cards some kind of flag if they contain unread comments?

Thank you in advance :)

Hello @Thomas Unterstaller

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Unfortunately, Jira does not have a feature to highlight new comments added since you last visited an issue. We have a feature request created to implement this feature in Jira Cloud:

Highlight new comments since the user's last visited session on an issue

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

As a workaround, you can configure notifications to be sent to you and your team every time a new comment is added. These would be the steps:

  1. Navigate to your project > Project Settings > Notifications
  2. Click in Actions > Edit Notifications > Add your team to the Issue Commented notification

For more details about the workaround, you can check the documentation below:
