I am able to see that the original time estimate on sub tasks rolls up to the story level, but when i close the story and all of its subtasks, the estimate is not reflected in the burndown report.

Is this expected? (i have the burndown report looking at original time estimate and our estimation is set to "Issues will burn down their Original Time Estimate value upon completion.")

Hello Edward,

When you say that you can roll-up your sub-task estimations to their parent, I believe you are talking about the flag option called Include Sub-tasks in the time tracking field of Stories that have in the Old issue view. Is it correct?

Unfortunately, this flag option only displays this information in the issue view, not applying it to your board reports. Currently, it is not possible to sum-up the sub-task estimations to their parents using only JIRA, as explained in the opened feature request below:

Sum estimates from sub-tasks in user stories

Also, there are several workarounds provided on that feature request (and other ones linked) which may apply to your scenario, like the Aim Agile Planning app that provides you with the possibility to sum estimations.

Search for the word "workaround" in the feature request and check if any of the many workarounds provided better work for your case.

Let me know if you have any questions.
