Hi Atlassian team and community,
I'd like to request an option to disable the ?selectedIssue= side panel behavior on the Jira "For You" page.
What's happening:
When clicking on any issue from the "For You" page, Jira appends ?selectedIssue=PROJ-XXX to the URL and opens the issue in a split/side panel view. This changes the page layout and makes it harder to return to a clean "For You" view.
What I'd prefer:
The older behavior where clicking an issue navigates directly to the full issue page (/browse/PROJ-XXX) without altering the "For You" page URL or opening a side panel.
Why this matters:
The side panel feels cramped compared to the full issue view
The URL gets polluted, making bookmarks and sharing unreliable
There's currently no setting to revert to the previous behavior — workarounds like middle-clicking or manually stripping the URL parameter add unnecessary friction to everyday workflows
Request:
Please add a user preference or toggle (in profile settings or the "For You" page itself) to disable the selectedIssue side panel and restore direct navigation to the full issue view.
Thanks for considering this!
