hi,
we are always adding attachments to Jira that come in by email. we have found that internet explorer works best as you can drag from email directly into the issue, whereas google chrome makes you drag it to the desktop and then into jira. So IE is superior in that regard.
however when editing files (excel or word) chrome is superior in that it lets you open in the folder so you can start editing it from there and then save, drag the new updated version into jira again. however IE doesnt let you open in a folder.
Does anyone know if any of these settings can be changed so i can hang out on one browser for everything? Does anyone also know if you can add a feature to not allow files of the same name so the original would be overwritten?
thanks!
Hi Jon,
I've tested dragging a picture from Gmail to a ticket in Jira and it only copies the image URL and it does not attach.
A solution that perhaps can help you using only Chrome, is to right-click and copy the image, then click on the comment box and use CTRL+V or just press CTRL+V that the attachment window will appear. It's not as easy as IE, but I believe that it's better than save the image and then add to Jira.
I tried using Firefox as well, but it works the same as Chrome to attach files.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Angélica
