there is one particular epic, which is open but I am not able to see that epic on Backlog/epic panel. There are various boards for this project which are scrum as well as Kanban. this particular epic is not visible on any of the boards. Checked the filters settings for all the boards. Other epics which are exactly similar to this one are visible. any suggestions please as to how to bring this one epic in backlog?
Did you look at the Epic Status? If the Epic Status is in Done you will not see this Epic on the boards. You may not have this field available on your screens and will have to ask to add/add it temporarily to the Epic screen scheme in question.
If this is the problem one of two things may have happened:
1. you have an automated workflow that updates Epic Status (it is required on Epics) as you move through the ticket workflow and update the Status. You can move the Epic out of a Done state but someone in the workflow forgot to set a transition update to take the Epic Status out of Done
2. someone accessed the Epic Status via the scrum panel and marked the Epic "Done" - this is the Epic Status, not the Status, the Epic disappeared from the panel.
Thank you so much. I was able to figure this out from your comments and
discussion over here. I used the JQL to filter that epic. It was in closed status. so changed that status and it showed up on backlog again.

When I try to use Epic Status in my filter search, I get a warning message that reads "Epic Status is not applicable for the current project and/or issue type". This appears to be limiting me from changing a 'Done' Epic back to Open status.
My end goal here is to get this one Epic marked as 'Done' (accidentally) to reappear in my Epics pane and also relate Stories and Tasks to it again.

Hey @Daniel Horton you may want to start your own thread to get this sorted out. Screenshots of the error messaging and where you are when you get it will help as well :)
