Suddenly one of our devs lost access to see new content in a Project after a certain date. He gets notifications emails that he has been assigned to tickets, but he can't see the sprint board it say that he doesn't have permission and when he click 'request access' nothing happens. No request is sent. So what is happening? I have checked all the groupsand app accesses of this account Elijah.

Hello @Daniel Ronnstam

There are several elements to giving a user access to an agile board that references a Company Managed project.

  1. The user must have the Jira User app rule assigned to them (be a licensed Jira user).
  2. The user must have the Browse Projects permission within the permission scheme associated with the project.

The above can be confirmed using the Permission Helper as recommended by @Staffan Redelius

  3. The Filter that the board is based on must be shared with the user.
You can find the filter used by the board by going to the Board Settings.

From the Details tab on the next screen click the link to Edit Filter Query.

From the next screen click Filter Details to see with whom the filter has been shared in the Permissions section.

Is the user clicking a link to view the Board or to view an individual issue?

If the user is clicking a link to view an individual issue and gets the message that they don't have access to see the issue, then the next thing to look at is if an Issue Security Level has been set for the issue. If it has, then the user must be part of one of the following that was associated with that Security Level:

Hi @Daniel Ronnstam

Are you using a team managed project or a Company managed project?

  • If it is a Team managed project, check that he is a member in the project
  • If you are using a Company managed project, got to Space settings ->Permissions and use the permission helper (button in the upper right corner) to check what permissions are missing.

Let me know if this helps!

Best regards,
/Staffan
