OCR for PDFs on Cloud and using API (not midware)

Hi - is there a solution that can do OCR from file formats including PDFs?

Use case is to read incoming Invoices and or Contracts attachments, extract text and lift into relevant fields on work items.

Needs to work via API.

The Market place options don't seem to cover PDF or are Server based.

Welcome to the community.

To my knowledge there is no such feature on Cloud. Also Rovo doesn't have this options, there are multiple feature request on this on https://jira.atlassian.com/ 

There are no API options for reading attachments.

Hi Gregory!

I am dev of Jira Cloud app Attachment Architect which supports previewing multiple file formats, OCR for images etc. Maybe this could be functionality I can bundle into app.

How do you envision the configuration?

• Would you define a Regex template per project? (e.g., Invoice #: (\d+))

• Or do you need a UI where you select an area on the PDF and map it to a Custom Field?

Maybe it would possible to use Rovo together with app but first it would be great if you could share you vision.
