When the backlog is filtered can I see a number for each ticket for the order of the unfiltered backlog for the same tickets?
Hello @Andrew Jervis
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Can you explain your question in more detail?
For the number you are trying to get for each ticket, what does that number represent? Are you looking for its location in the unfiltered list?
For example if you have 5 tickets in the unfiltered list, and you filter it so only the second and fourth tickets show, are you wanting some indicator to display that tells you they are the second and fourth tickets?
If that is what you are trying to achieve, that is not currently possible.
The ranking of issues is tracked based on their relative position rather than by an absolute number. Jira knows that an issue in position Y is before the issue in position Z and after the issue in position X. It does not assign a number to represent that. Also the ranking of issues is Global, not specific to a given backlog, because issues can appear in more than one backlog.

Thanks for the quick reply

Answer = Yes

Answer = Yes
If the above is not possible could you please amend the software so it is possible as it would save much time and be super helpful

Hello @Andrew Jervis
This is a community of Jira users, and I am just another user of the product like you. So, no, I can't change the product
Can you provide more information about the root problem you are trying to solve with this functionality? Why do you need this? Maybe this user community can suggest an alternative.
You could ask your Jira Administrator to open a support case directly with Atlassian to ask for this. They should provide a detailed use case explaining the root problem you are trying to solve and why this functionality would be useful.

Thanks for your reply which is very helpful. I thought you worked for Atlassian so as a fellow user your reply is even more appreciated
The reason we need this change is that when we are looking at a filtered backlog I need to know where the filtered ticket is in relation to the unfiltered backlog for priority. for instance a ticket might be top of the pending list but position 25 in the unfiltered list and therefore unimportant
Thanks for your advice about asking the Jira administrator to open a support case with Atlassian which answers my next question
Trudy you help has been very much valued
