Notifications for missed deadlines

Is there a way to set up an email alert for any deadlines that have been missed?

I'm guessing this could perhaps be done by creating a search filter and trying to make everyone subsribe to them but I would like this to be a mandatory option.

A lot of us use https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Jelly+Escalation- similar principle, you filter for the issues, but then comment or update them, hence sending emails via notifications (no subscribing needed)

I don't think this works in ondemand does it?

I don't know if you can use Jelly OnDemand, I suspect not.

You could subscribe groups to a filter though
