Hello everyone.
In Jira, there is a small message bell at the top right of the screen. It is marked with a red flag when there are new unread messages.
This flag disappears immediately when you click on the bell to read the messages.
This happens even if there are still unread messages.
Is this an intended behaviour or a bug?
I would have expected the flag to remain displayed until all messages had been read.
Does anyone have any further information on this?
Can this be configured?
Best regards,
Andreas
When you click on the notification bell it will show all of the notifications that have been received. Currently, there is no option to mark a certain notification as unread.
Hi Nikola.
Are you sure?
The problem: When I open the list of notifications, there is a mix of read and unread messages. But the red flag refuses to give a sign that there is still sth. to read.

Even if you make it unread the bell notification won't show the notifications. This shouldn't be the expected behavior. I am comparing this to the Gmail inbox and Slack messages, which work in the opposite way. You are right about this one.
