Next-gen Project does not give me Reporting options

I am playing with Jira Software with a test license and really like the simplified look and feel of next generation project functionality. However if I create a classic project I have reporting options on the left tab. When creating a next-gen project I however do not have reports as a menu option. What are the reporting options when using a next-gen project format and am I missing something obvious.

I have picked up that I can activate report functionality for next-gen projects, under project settings. Still interested to know more about the functionality as even after activating the reports available are more limited and require a sprint to use.
