I have created new users and sent email notification. When new user clicks on the "Signup" button, it takes them to login page instead of Sign up. I would like to knot what do the user need to do on their systems to be able to sign up?
As your description "I have created new users and sent email notification", I think the link in the email should be to notify the user to log in directly instead of registering.

I have installed JIRA with the base URL as localhost:8080 and the database on the local system only. Now I created/invited users and sent notifications. When this new user clicks on the sign up button, they should ideally get the sign up window. Instead they are getting a new user Atlassian login page. I have the following questions -
a. Do I need to change the base URL to have my team access it? (we do not have any server, and Jira is downloaded only on my computer).
b. Do I need to change the database?
c. The new users, who are trying to login, do they need to download Jira (software). Post download when they are installing, it asks for login, what needs to be done there?

I have tried both. In both cases users are getting the login page where they need to create their login. They are unable to use the login and pwd details I have created through Jira.
