New issues are being created with a resolution of Done

I just created a couple issues and they already have a Resolution of Done while they are in backlog.  They haven't even been assigned to a Sprint yet and already marked as Done.  Why can't I just edit this field?  I have seen multiple answers which talk about adding a Post function but I can't figure out how to do this.  Is there a guide that explains how to fix this that a newbie can understand?  All the guides I am finding are beyond my level of experience.

If this just started happening someone 1. changed the workflow to set the resolution in a post function or 2. they put resolution on the create screen. Whenever it is presented the resolution field is required so if it on the create screen the reporter would need to set it to create the ticket. Whichever was done needs to be changed back. Resolution isn't like other fields, until it is set it is NULL in the database. You can't use the edit function to set a database field to NULL. The post function is done in the transition. In this case the function would be to CLEAR the resolution field.

I don't have a transition to add the post function to and I can't add one because it says "Generated by JIRA Software version 1001.0.0-SNAPSHOT. This workflow is managed internally by Jira Software. Do not manually modify this workflow.". 

Is this something that can be fixed?

If it just started happening then something changed. Something is setting the resolution during the creation process. I'm not familiar with the free plan so I don't know where to start.

I think you have put the "resolution" field on the "create issue" screen.  Remove that, it should only ever be on screens that take the issue to an end point.
