New Sprint Is Being Linked to the Wrong Board

Dilan Koyunoğlu February 4, 2025

Hi

Something happened and I think sych between board and its sprint is broken.

I am using two different boards in Jira: A and B. Each board has its own dedicated sprints (e.g., A Weeks 5 and B Weeks 5). However, when I try to create a new sprint, it is automatically showing up as "A Weeks" on the B board, causing sprints to be linked to the wrong board.

The issues I am experiencing are:

  1. When I create a new sprint on the B board, the sprint is automatically linked to the A board instead.
  2. This synchronization issue results in new issues being assigned to the wrong sprint.
  3. The problem leads to both boards showing the same sprints and causing confusion between the projects.

Could you please guide me on how to fix this issue or if there are any settings I need to adjust? I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this synchronization problem.

Looking forward to your help. Thank you!

Welcome @Dilan Koyunoğlu

Have you checked the filters for both of your boards? Also if you are a Jira administrator, check if the parallel sprints are enabled: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/use-parallel-sprints/

Hello,

Yes I've checked the filters on each boards, ıt looks fine.

The issue is, I've created an issue at a wrong sprint.(ıt should be project A and sprint A but it was project B sprint A)

I think it affected my board-sprint sync.

Right now, I see 2 sprints in 1 board. (one of them my project A's active sprint and the other is my project B's sprint)

Here is the screenshot:
