Hi,

Im a project manager using JIRA. My management requires a fully automated report from JIRA. Basically Task, status, remaining time ( may be a lil graphical) and finally the notes whether the task is on track or needs to be reviewed and so on.

Im aware of the currently available reports which don't actually serve the my requiremtn above. Really appreciate if I can know whether this kind of a tool is available in JIRA if not any tools that I can add on to serve my purpose.

Many thanks,

Trevoy

Hi @Yohan Trevoy,

welcome to the community.

Based on your tags, I assume, you are using Confluence and Jira. Do you know about the Jira macros in Confluence? You could use them to create reports which go into that direction:

  • Jira Issue macro: Here, you could show a table based on some criteria, e.g. all issues in the current sprint. And in the table, you could configure all columns which are interesting for you.
  • Jira Charts macro: This gives you some simple charts about issues. Again you can filter issues and chart it by, e.g. status.

So, you could create a Confluence page, add all the macros you want (and maybe explaining text).

If that's not enough for you, I recommend to check out either the Dashboard Gadgets or apps in the marketplace.

Cheers,
Matthias.

Hi @Matthias Gaiser _K15t_  ,

Thanks a lot for the response,

I actually tried with macros but the case is I have no where to add a comment on it.  For an example if this task is not on track it would be great if I can actually update it in the report so that it would be really convenient to the management. The idea which came to my mind is if we can display the comments i can actually comment it and show it in the table using macros unfortunately that feature is not currently available.

when u actually add a table with a filter it doesn't allow to edit it so there is no where to add a comment.

Is there any way that i can add a table and then edit it. I dont think adding each feature to the table which each task would be practical as I deal with about 100 tasks per sprint.

Many Thanks,

Yohan

I understand your requirements.

One idea which came to my mind is that you could add a text custom field to your issues. You could call this field something like "comment for the management" and fill the content directly in the Jira issues (for all the ones where you need to comment).

With the Jira issue macro, you could then select to show your custom field as a separate column.

Would that work for you?
