My boss wants me to create an excel file that will automatically download data from Jira to excel by just clicking a button in excel. How can I do that without going to jira to export data manually?

Well if you were on Cloud you could simply use jira-cloud-for-excel-official . On server I am not aware of any excel extension available. Maybe using an addon solution like:

better-excel-exporter-for-jira

eazybi-reports-and-charts-for-jira
