Need JQL Query for Searching Checklist Updates Based on DateRange

Genevieve_Green August 4, 2022

I'm looking for a way to track what Checklist items have been ticked off for a set period of time, for example:

Checklist items completed last week,

Checklist items completed this month,

etc.

I can see a way to track Checklist progress % but nothing specific as to "when" the progress changed.

We are using the "Basic Checklist Free" - is this possible to do via JQL query?

Hi @Genevieve_Green -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

In my experience of using the free version of that addon, that query would not be possible.  The history of checklist changes is managed separately from Jira issue history, and the free version ages-out history, removing older etnries.

To confirm what is possible, I recommend looking at the documentation for this addon, and specifically look for what is supported with JQL searches.

Kind regards,
Bill

Thanks for the quick response, Bill.

I've had a read through the documentation and it didn't mention anything about date/time being collected for when tickboxes are completed or a method of searching for updates to tickboxes based on dates or periods of time, so looks like it just isn't possible in the free version.

Thanks for clarifying for me!

Perhaps a work-around to try is with an automation rule and a custom field.

  • The checklist changes can trigger a rule, and
  • you can then test when all items are checked, and
  • then save that date/time from {{now}} in a custom field.
  • JQL could then be used for a basic query to test the custom field for your time range.
