Name change for jira

Hi 
 Can I change the subdomain without breaking any rules and without losing data? For example, we are using the URL "abc.atlassian.net" and want to change it to "abcd.atlassian.net". Because we have a lot of repos and employees are connected. Please advise.

Changing the base URL can impact apps.So if your repository is associated with Jira through an app it can be impacted.  See link below.
