I have a 3 boards. All boards have the same filter query.

Board1 lists all the stories i have created and when i click on the stories, it lists out the issues under it.

Board 2 and Board3 lists out all the issues. It does not display all the stories.

Can i consolidate these boards into one ?

Why am i seeing different things listed in Board1 and Board2 when the filter is the same.

Hello @RajiArumugam ,

Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community :)

The board's filter only controls which workitems will appear on the board. But several board level settings further refine what actually gets displayed. Even with identical filters, these differences can cause boards to show very different things:

  • First check if the concerned board is a Kanban board or a sprint, and if sprint, make sure which ever issues you are looking for, should be associated with the active sprint
  • Validate if there are any swimlanes configured
  • If its a kanban board, they have additional subfilter, check if there is any such subfilter set
  • If a board's columns dont have certain statuses mapped, issues in those statuses will not appear even though the filter includes them.
  • An active quick filter on a board will hide non matching issues. Check if there is any quick filter configured on the board

You can refer to this article as well: https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/issues-are-not-appearing-in-boards-including-agile-reports/

To answer your other question, yes you can consolidate the boards into one. Just combine the filter queries used by 3 boards , then pick one board and change the filter to the new combined filter.

Thank you

Hey @RajiArumugam,

Welcome to the community!

The filter isn't the only thing that controls what is displayed on a board.  The very first thing to check would be to make sure the boards are the same type (scrum vs kanban) as that can be the biggest difference.

Beyond that, I would also examine the other settings you have set in the configuration of the boards to see what else may be different.  I'd recommend starting with swimlanes as you can use stories as a display method here.

I hope that helps!
