Move story swimlane to bottom of board when Status=Done

Yo,

We use many story swimlanes in one of our projects. Usually, a sprint has 5-6 different swimlanes. Is it possible to move a swimlane to the bottom of the board automatically when its status is set to done (e.g. all of its tasks have been moved to the Done column)?

@Scrum Flower Boy, it sounds like you are looking to present swimlanes based upon 2 methods: Stories and queries. Something like this:

  • story 1
  • story 2
  • story 3
  • status = done

This is not possible you only get one method. If you want to stay w/ Stories then you should, as you mentioned in the response to Nic, create a couple of quick filters:

  • Hide Done - status != Done
  • Done - status = Done

IMO, if you are using swimlane by stories then you certainly want to see the done in the swimlane not moved to the bottom once done. Using a QF to hide done is a common scenario to help focus on what remains.

Thanks, I'll try with quick filters and see if this will be enough for our teams. I sure hope so!

Quick filters worked perfectly. All the teams are happy with them and it solved their problems.

Thanks!

The only way to do this would be to include the status as part of a swimlane filter.

You mean to create a quick filter which allows people to display only swimlanes with an "IN PROGRESS" status?

You can do that, but I was suggesting that you put the clause into the swimlane definition.

Swimlane order can't be changed dynamically.

But you can change the tickets in that swimlane to move down, via JQL settings of a swimlane.

Do you mean that the tickets will move down in the specific swimlane? Can you elaborate more on that?
