We currently have service desk setup and there are 2 approvers for all tickets created and require approval. This is default and cant be changed by the person who creates issues.
From what i can see, this is a custom field in Project Settings / Custom Fields
But when i try to configure the Custom field and "Edit Default Value", it does not show me current default values that are set. I was expecting it would show 2 users that are current defaults but instead its empty and hence, i am not sure if i am modifying the correct field.
Is this expected behavior where it will not show the current default values when you try to edit it or am i actually looking at the wrong place?
I cant just try as this is in use system.
Turned out to be another location
Project Settings > Request Types > "Select your relevant request type" > edit the value of the approvers field.
@Hardik Bhatt , you should be able to see the default Approvers. For me they are displayed before and after I click on the edit default value. If it is blank I have to imagine you do not have Approvers yet defined or maybe the wrong custom field.
Jira settings > Issues > Custom fields > ‘approvers’ click On ellipses and Configure.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Then may be i am missing something.
I did the same you described Jira settings > Issues > Custom fields > ‘approvers’ click On ellipses and Configure but its empty however i know that for some issue types in service desk that need approver, the approvers are auto populated to 2 people.
Is there any other way this is potentially done?
How can i figure out how its currently working?

scratching my head. if it is empty then it tells me you have not defined any approvers. If you go ahead and add in the approvers does it not work?

But some tickets that require approvers are auto populating them. I tried giving default but as expected, thats not how its currently working. giving defaults there did not change the default approvers for newly created ticket.
Its being defaulted from somewhere else.
